Yeah, and Dale kept working for 5 years in a job he hated. He never got the 5 years back he could have been enjoying life while working part time at the bookstore. He loves reading and enjoys sharing good books with his patrons. Then at age 63, Dale got cancer. He died at 64. So there you go; the story of Dale. Retired from a job he hated and lived 2 years after lining his nest.

I believe the supplement is figured just like s.s. but only uses fers income. S.S. is calculated using all s.s. income. This is at best a ballpark estimate and likely will err on the high side. Especially if you are using a s.s. estimate.

You can retire at age 60 with 20 years but the FERS supplement calculation will give you 50% of your age 62 SSI. Sorry for the delay in the answer.
